Stop Child Abuse Arizona Initiative

Power Over Predators is proud to partner with Arizona State Senator Victoria Steele and other childcare advocates to promote the Stop Child Abuse Arizona Initiative. The initiative will provide online, phone, chat, and text support to children who want someone to talk to about what they are experiencing. The initiative will also distribute information to schools, teachers, coaches, pediatricians, and others so they can help distribute flyers and online information to children and families.

“Senator Steele’s first memory was being raped by a family member. School was her safe place, but she still didn’t know who she could talk to.

What if she had heard the truth about personal body safety and abuse? What if she’d been told that abuse is never ok and there are people out there that would listen and help her?

Abuse prevention was never provided she went on to suffer in silence.

Today, 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 5 boys will suffer abuse before their 18th birthday. Who will be their voice?

Power Over Predators is an abuse prevention program that I wish I had. Maybe I would have been spared years of abuse at the hands of my abuser. We all have a part to play in protecting kids from abuse. Abuse prevention must be provided in every school for every child.”
