Recent events could lead us to despair – but there is hope for future generations. Embracing a triage approach gives communities the opportunity to heal most effectively. Prevention saves lives, Protection provides after care and opportunity, Prosecution keeps order, and Partnerships connect communities so that kids can thrive. Children are resilient and capable of healing if we are willing to fight for them. When we work together “challenges can be turned into legacies.”

Power Over Predators is honored to host the annual Citywide SAFE Summit. It will empower communities to join forces, respect one another’s role, and realize the same goal: we all have a part to play when it comes to protecting our children and forming a legacy of resilience that will be felt for generations to come.

The Objective

Educate participants in each of the four P’s.

  • Need #1: Formulate prevention education methods and awareness training efforts for schools, parents, caregivers, foster care providers, educators, and first responders.
  • Need #2: Examine the impact of trauma and construct self-care methods.
  • Need #3: Discover community resources that provide trauma informed care, specialized therapy, safe living environments, and educational opportunities.
  • Need #4: Network and construct a plan for community collaboration.

The Opportunity

Every person executing their role well, collaborating with others providing a stronger more united front.

  • Goal #1: Plan a commitment to implement prevention education as a community.
  • Goal #2: Propose a comprehensive model on how to practice personal self-care methods including how to identify, respond to and connect with a child who is suffering from trauma.
  • Goal #3: Prioritize resources according to individual needs.
  • Goal #4: Reconstruct plans for a collaborative triage approach.
